St. Timothy’s is a parish within the Episcopal Diocese of Nevada. The parish was founded in 1946 and is still a vibrant presence in downtown Henderson. Our mission is to proclaim Jesus Christ at all times and in all places, bringing the whole Faith to all people.
We use the Book of Common Prayer as the structure for our liturgy and worship. Lay persons and clergy participate together in the weekly celebration of the Holy Eucharist as we pray, sing, read scripture, and receive communion. We offer ourselves, our lives and labors for the purposes of God as we lift our hearts and minds to God together in community. We believe that the Holy Scriptures are the Word of God, and we believe that God still speaks to us through the Bible. The weekly sermons are usually focused on the week's scripture readings. At St. Timothy’s we carry on a long history of service in the wider church and outreach to the community. We participate in diocesan and national church events by sending parish representatives, and we host a neighborhood feeding program by sharing our facility with Friends in the Desert. We also welcome several community groups that meet at the church. Other small groups of people meet at the church for support, prayer, and weekday communion services. We welcome your inquiry about celebrating life events such as baptism, confirmation, marriage, ministry to the sick or home-bound, and burials. Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, you are welcome at St. Timothy’s. Come, and see. God Bless You. |
